Function of District Population Welfare Offices

 

      1. Compilation, analysis and publication of demographic statistics of the district and estimation of district population with trend and future projection.
      2. Mainstreaming population factor in development planning process at district level.
      3. Provision of family welfare services including family planning and general medical care though Reproductive Health Service Centre (RHSC-A) & Mobile Service Units (MSUs) (non-devolved entities).
      4. Information, education and communication services in population welfare sector
      1. Electronic Publicity
      2. Print Media Publicity
      3. Seminars/Workshops
      4. Organizing Activities
      1. Storage for provision of contraceptives of Reproductive Health Service Centre (RHSC-A), Mobile Service Units (MSUs) & Family Welfare Centers.
      2. Planning and development initiatives for the population welfare programs in the district
      3. Promotion of population planning activities through Print & Electronic Media:
      4. Establishment/promotion of family health services, clinical and non-clinical contraception through Reproductive health services establishments located in the district/tehsil hospitals and particularly provision of services for rural areas.
      5. Supply of contraceptives and medicines to the desirous client in urban and rural areas of the district through Reproductive Health Service Centre (RHSC-A) & Mobile Service Units (MSUs) and agencies involved in the program
      6. Implementation of publicity and communication strategy through local electronic & print media.
      7. Coordination of population welfare program activities with others Government departments at district level.
      8. Setting up of population welfare/District Technical committee at District level for promotion of Family Planning Activities in their respective jurisdiction.
      9. Monitoring and evaluations of the population welfare program at District level.
      10. Any other activities of the population welfare program that the District Government may specify
      11. Procurement and distribution of general medicines.
      12. Storage and distribution of contraceptive
      13. Countersigning officer for ACR of Tehsil Officers and officials.
      14. Implementation of RH Act, 2020.
      15. Coordination with elected representatives.
      16. Inter tehsil transfers of staff.

Monitoring & evaluation of tehsil offices and officials administrative issues of tehsil offices.
